An important character in Islamic history, Muhammad Bin Qasim, is best remembered for conquering Sindh on the 10th of Ramadan in the eighth century. On March 30, 2023, Hamdard Public School, organized a ceremony to honour his accomplishments and services to Islamic civilization. With vibrant speeches and song, the event aimed to educate students about Muhammad Bin Qasim’s military tactics, political methods, and his legacy in the subcontinent. Students also looked into the role of his conquest in the spread of Islam and the resulting cultural and social changes. Also, they discovered the significance of Muhammad Bin Qasim’s landing place for his valorous deed, Madinat al-Hikmah, being established by Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said.
In addition, the occasion offered a chance to consider how crucial courage, fortitude, and tenacity are to success. It was a reminder to the students that with the right mindset and values, they can overcome any challenge and make a positive impact in their community.
ICAT INTERNATIONAL LINGUISTICS CONTEST
“You live a new life for every new language you speak. If you know only one language, you live only once.”
Students who participate in the ICAT International Linguistics Contest get the chance to display their language proficiency and compete against other language enthusiasts from across the world. This month on 15th March,2023, 20 kids,who took part in a written exam, that was administered in a school in the month of January, were awarded with the prizes. Out of 20 participants, three students were selected at provisional level.
They were required to answer questions in their second language that covered grammar, vocabulary, and understanding. The competition was fierce, and the pupils’ test-taking skills and knowledge were excellent. For students to develop their language skills, learn about other vocabulary, and improve their comprehension abilities, the competition offered a fantastic platform. Also, it assisted in highlighting the value of language education and inspired pupils to pursue language learning with passion.
All things considered, the ICAT International Linguistics Contest is a great project that fosters students’ awareness and development of language skills.
